Windows 7? YES!

90% of the workstations we manage for our clients are XP Pro. Not many of our clients ever upgraded or installed Vista in their environments, either the anti-hype was just to great or Windows XP Pro SP2 was a solid desktop operating system, I think a little of both. But, here we are, 9 years after the launch of XP and Microsoft has announced they are only going to offer critical security updates for XP Pro going forward until 2014. Windows 7 is now 3 months old and so far the reviews aren't bad, in fact I think Microsoft has a winner.

Happy New Year! Who’s watching your network?

Happy New Year! You either enjoyed a quiet evening with the family or a raucous fiesta with friends into the early morning hours New Years day or maybe you woke up in time to watch the repeat of the Rose Parade and watched the Buckeyes beat the Ducks like me. Whatever it was you did over the long holiday weekend, hopefully you didn't think about work. If you did I hope it wasn't about your computer network, server or workstation.

Is your business ready for Microsoft Office 2010?

I'm sure you are already enjoying all the great features and benefits of Office 2007, like the Ribbon Toolbar, Automatic Document Design and Live Preview to name a few! Wait, your not using Office 2007? You mean, like Vista, you avoided upgrading your Office Suite and stayed with Office 2003? Actually, I don't blame you, it seems that every couple of years there is another whiz bang and Microsoft wants a couple hundred dollars to upgrade each license and in your office with 10, 20 or 50 users, that's not chump change.
